Carl Gallagher
Troubled by abandonment, Carl is a sadist on more than an internal level. He finds no remorse in hurting other kids at school and tormenting anything that can feel pain. He has a tendency to try to take their bat to school, which is there for the house's protection. Due to his active childhood, he is prone to head lice which Fiona has to constantly take care of. Looking for attention and release of his anguish, he goes above the typical 'acting out' of other children his age.
Frank Gallagher
Deadbeat, drunk would-be father that tends to act more like a parent to Karen than to his own children. He has a history of ranting when he feels he has something to say, something is wrong, or when he's cornered. He lives off of Sheila's hospitality, disability (and Aunt Ginger's social security) checks and Kev's bar. He is no stranger to illegal substances and is oddly friendly with Sheila's ex husband, Eddie.
Kash Karib
Owner of the Kash and Grab, Kash is head of a Muslim household that consists of his wife, Linda and their two sons. Even with his family at home, he is attracted to Ian, who works there with him. Kash takes it upon himself to be a provider for Ian, buying him new clothes and shoes. He does not like confrontation, so lets the Milkovich family get away with their threats, abuse and theft.
Kev Ball
Bar owner and friend to the Gallagher family through his love for Veronica. He has worked for everything that he has and gets angered whenever Veronica thinks it's ok to just give things to the Gallagher family (whether it be permissive or tangible.) Kev has grown close to Steve and, like Veronica, is openly expressive and hard to embarrass in any company. He is oblivious to Ian's crush on him yet does nothing to lead him on or give him false hope.
Lip Gallagher
Nicky Milkovich
The oldest of the Milkovich boys, Nicky doesn't really seem to fit into the family as he is more for himself than for the gang their blood limits them to. He doesn't seem to care about either side of how things happen if he can say it doesn't concern him. Basically, Nicky cares about Nicky, all the others can go to hell.
Shane Milkovich
*Name not confirmed by US version yet* He is beyond a carbon copy of his brother, Nicky, as he takes whatever the oldest boy does to the next extreme level. Often caught up in fights with Mickey- most of them physical- proves that Shane holds a sort of grudge for the fact that the youngest of the siblings controls the others, wishing for a taste of that power for himself. He is their father's favorite child.
Steve McBride
Steve is the 'new guy,' con man that is showing Fiona that it's ok to have a life of her own. He lifts some of the weight of the family off of Fiona's shoulders and accepts the family as his own- willing to put that above sex (often leaving him to talk through it so that he can feel that deeper connection with Fiona even if she is only looking for the physical aspect of the moment.) He has even gone so far as to buy them a new washer on whim as well as pose for a potential guardian of Carl at school to keep him from being put in foster care. He has money to spare due to his auto chop shop of stolen cars and has connections in 'all the right places.'
