It was a beautiful dream. The mom who didn't take off. The father who was there all the time; not drinking all day except after a bad day at work. But of course life was never perfect. Right? Or was it? Because if it was, what the fcuk did her family do to be so fucked up? Fiona felt the sun beat down on her, although it was close to the negatives in degree wise. She pulled closer to the warmth next to her, embracing it with her whole body. Nuzzling her head, she felt something hard. Blinking her eyes open half way, she saw the arm that laid beneath her. A smile couldn't be kept away from her lips as she starred at his face. Lifting her hand to his face, she pushed away a strand of Steve's hair causing him to stir. "Hey." She said slowly; causing him to smirk and Fiona to roll her eyes at him, getting up in the process.
She felt his arms grab at her waist and pull her back down onto the bed. "Steve, I have to get the kids ready for school." A groan could be heard from him, he never did try and cover up his frustrations with her. "Fi, they can take care of themselves. You know that, I know that. Leave them be and just fcuk me." "Oh that's poetic." Fiona swatted his arm away from her, "As much as I want to, you know I don't have time." Getting up from the bed Fiona slipped into underwear and buttoned up a plaid shirt, walking towards the door. "That's what I don't understand about you Fi-" Shutting the door behind her, she cut off his voice. "Can't hear you!" She shouted back at him, making her way towards the bathroom.
Starring into the mirror, all Fiona could see where the bags under her eyes taunting her. Waving it off, Fiona pulled her toothbrush from out of the holder. "Oh just great." She noticed the toothpaste was almost gone. Just another thing on the list. A loud piercing scream shot threw the air like a rocket, causing Fiona to drop her brush and rush out the door. "Carl!" Her voice echoed it seemed, as her feet carried her to the kitchen. Before she could shout at Carol for whatever he did, Steve was there grabbing the baby doll he had given Debbie back from Carl had handed it back to the screaming child. Pausing, she stopped sighing in relief. Steve calmly walked over to her, smiling at her with a twinkle in his eyes. "Now Fiona, don't tell me you're mad about me helping out. All I did was get down her faster than you did." Going to say something, she stopped herself slightly clenching her jaw. "I don't owe you anything." Of course she did, she owed him a lot. But she wouldn't admit that to herself, or let him know that. She could relay on herself; that was what she had to keep in her mind. All she could trust was her.
